 Zone Routines
Now comes the fun part. Make sure your Daily Routines and your
Weekly Routines are done first. The key to doing your Zone Routines
is to detail clean a different room each week. Refer back to your Weekly Routines to see what day or days
you want to work on your Zone Routines. You can combine rooms in each week to make a 4 week
plan or you can do a separate room each week and make a 6,7, or even an 8 week plan.
Here is an example of a four week plan which is what I use and if there is a fifth
week in the month then that is my vacation week.:)
- Week One: Living Room and Outside Work
- Week Two: Kitchen, Laundry Room, and Garage
- Week Three: Bathroom, Office
- Week Four: Bedrooms, Hallway
Or you could divide all the rooms out and make a eight week plan and at the
end of the eight weeks you would start over again with Week One. With the four
week plan your zone work would get done every month; with the eight week plan your
zone work would get done every other month. So again, this all depends on
what works best for you.
Now that you have a Zone Routine you will need to decide how often you
want to do each chore that needs done in your Zone of the week. There are some chores
that only need done once every other month or once a quarter and some chores
are seasonal, twice a year or yearly. All of this will depend on your
comfort level of clean. I am going to give you example of how you can
break down your zone routines, but remember to adapt this with your
own comfort level of clean. You may want to do some of these things more or less
often.
